Aims & Scope
The Al-Azhar University Journal of Medical and Virus Researches and Studies (AUJMVRS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research across various medical disciplines, with a special emphasis on virology and virus-related studies. Our comprehensive scope reflects the interdisciplinary nature of modern medical research and the far-reaching impacts of viral diseases on human health
Aims:
- To serve as a premier platform for disseminating cutting-edge research in medical sciences, encompassing various specialties and their intersections with virology.
- To foster interdisciplinary collaboration among medical professionals, virologists, researchers, and public health experts.
- To advance our understanding of diseases, their etiologies, and innovative approaches to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, focusing on the role of viruses.
- To contribute to the global body of knowledge that informs evidence-based medical practices, clinical decision-making, and public health policies.
- To promote research that explores the complex interactions between viruses, human health, and various medical specialties.
Scope:
AUJMVRS welcomes original research articles, review papers, case studies, and short communications in areas including, but not limited to:
- Internal Medicine and its subspecialties (e.g., cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, infectious diseases)
- Pediatrics and neonatology
- Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Surgery and its subspecialties (e.g., general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology)
- Oncology and hematology
- Radiology and medical imaging
- Pathology and laboratory medicine
- Anesthesiology and critical care

Within these medical fields, we particularly encourage submissions that:
- Investigate the role of viruses in disease pathogenesis, progression, and outcomes
- Explore novel diagnostic techniques, therapeutic interventions, and preventive strategies related to virus-associated diseases
- Address the impact of viral infections on specific patient populations or medical specialties
- Provide insights into the clinical management of viral diseases and their complications
- Discuss the public health implications of viral outbreaks and pandemics
- Highlight interdisciplinary approaches to tackling virus-related health challenges
We also maintain a strong interest in virology-focused topics, including:
- Molecular virology, viral genomics, and proteomics
- Clinical virology and viral disease manifestations
- Viral epidemiology and surveillance
- Vaccine Development and Immunization Strategies
- Antiviral therapies and drug resistance mechanisms
- Host-virus interactions and immunological responses
Key Features:
- Rigorous peer-review process ensuring high-quality publications
- Rapid publication of accepted manuscripts
- Open access to maximize visibility and impact of research
- Interdisciplinary approach encouraging collaborations across medical and virological fields
- Special focus on research relevant to the Middle East and North Africa region, while welcoming global contributions
The AUJMVRS is committed to fostering scientific excellence, promoting the exchange of ideas among healthcare professionals and researchers, and adhering to the highest ethical standards in scientific publishing. We follow the guidelines set by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
By bridging the gap between various medical disciplines and virological research, we aim to contribute to improved patient care, enhanced disease prevention and management strategies, and more effective responses to health challenges posed by viruses.
